New York Comic Con 2012 Oct 11-14th

New York Comic Con is around the corner. I will be signing at My Plastic Heart #3313 Friday 10/12 1-2 P.M and Art Whino's booth next weekend. I will also be live painting from Fri-Sun at Art Whino's booth #3203. There's so much going on in one weekend and it's sure to be an amazing time. The following image is going to be a exclusive print release at Art Whino's booth. The original painting will be there too. The character is a tribute to Hatsune Miku who is Japans first Vocaloid. A singing synthesizer application with a female persona who performs live on stage as a digital hologram and is considered a pop idol in Japan.

JANM - Giant Robot Biennale 3

The Japanese American National Museum presents Giant Robot Biennale 3, its third show in conjunction with Eric Nakamura, owner of Asian American pop culture juggernaut Giant Robot. The expansive show features a gallery of eight emerging artists along with a customized vinyl figure collection.

Using Uglydoll creator David Horvath figures, Nakamura curated Project Remix, a custom vinyl show with over 80 artists from seven countries—including the rare combination of both established customizers and fine artists. Special additions to the exhibition include an original piece from Japanese painter Masakatsu Sashie as well as arcade machines runningJeni Yang and Beau Blyth’s new indie video game, Catburger.

Memories Are Made of This, Munky King's final art exhibition curated by Super Cooper inspired by childhood memories. 

Here's some info about my contribution. When my brother and I were kids we used to collect dandelions and flick the flowers off their steams at each other. We would sing the song "mama had a baby and her head popped off".

My Customs and signing for San Diego Comic Con 2012

It's been a busy few months preparing for San Diego Comic Con 2012. I am happy to introduce a family of new custom toys that will be available and on display at Dragatom's booth #4935 during Comic con. I have 6 customs in total and also made five custom Androids that will be sold blind boxed at Dragatomi's booth. 

If you are planning on going to Comic Con this year, I will be signing Saturday July, 14, 2 pm - 3 pm Dragatomi Booth #4935. Please stop by and say hello and I will draw on something for you. Plus I will be giving away a mini print to those who show up early. The prints are limited and will only be given away at my signing.  I am really looking forward to seeing all things comic con this week.
